Bangladeshi national wanting to go to Tibet via Kathmandu from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Need information regarding how to get it & where? Do I need the Chinese Visa as well, or is it possible to get that from Kathmandu if required?

i’m going on a trekking tour around Nepal next year, and want to venture to Tibet for a week or two after, but have no idea how to get there and the internet has given me no definate answer is yet.
do you need to go on a tour to get from one to the other or can you simply fly by yourself? are their any trains or buses that do the trip?

Homestay brings us closer to locals & we understand them and their culture much better. We heard there are homestays in rural Nepal. Are they available in cities too?
We are planning to go to Nepal at the end of February 2008 and want to return end of March.
